Officials Reviewing Claim That Billy Glaze Was Wrongfully Committed

The Hennepin County Attorney was reviewing new evidence Wednesday that could clear a man convicted of serial killings in the 1980s. The Innocence Project filed court papers Tuesday, attempting to free 70-year-old Billy Glaze. He was convicted of killing three Native American women in 1986 and 1987.

New Trial Sought For Man In ’80s Minneapolis Murders

Attorneys are seeking a new trial for a man convicted of killing three American Indian women in Minneapolis in the 1980s. Lawyers for 70-year-old Billy Glaze asked Tuesday that his conviction be thrown out in light of newly discovered DNA evidence.

A state senator who is Jewish said Tuesday she was “highly uncomfortable” while a visiting Baptist pastor repeatedly mentioned Jesus Christ and Christianity in a prayer on the floor of the state Senate a day earlier, and wants to require that prayers in the chamber be nondenominational.
