3 Minnesota Governor Candidates Meet In Moorhead

Democratic Gov. Mark Dayton and Republican challenger Jeff Johnson picked up the intensity in a debate Wednesday before a northwestern Minnesota crowd, arguing about taxes, an oil pipeline and economic growth. Independence Party candidate Hannah Nicollet also took part in the 90-minute event — the second of five scheduled debates.

1st District Candidates Meet In 1st Debate

The Republican and Democratic candidates competing for Minnesota’s 1st Congressional District both expressed a willingness to cross the aisle to get things done Tuesday in Rochester during their first debate ahead of the November election. Democratic U.S. Rep. Tim Walz said he was willing to turn his back on party leadership in favor of his constituents.

About 1,500 people turned out Thursday night to weigh in on what Minnesota’s first copper mine could mean for their water and air.
