The future of a historical, century-old Minneapolis house was decided Friday morning. The house on Colfax Avenue was built 120 years ago by master builder T.P. Healy. Because of who built the house and its age, many consider it a historic property and untouchable.
A Minneapolis-based television production company is casting for a new season of the renovation series “I Hate My Kitchen.” The series airs on HGTV and DIY Network. The series is filmed in and around the Twin Cities and features creative, affordable ways to renovate kitchens.
The Twin Cities are quickly becoming a goldmine for home improvement shows, as there are four home improvement shows being filmed in Twin Cities’ metro for DIY Network and HGTV. “Our shows work because the Midwest is generally very relatable and the network really likes that,” said Anna Campbell, Executive Producer. “They like that we have a variety of different houses and different ages of houses.”
