Golden Valley Man Guilty Of Fatal High-Speed, Drunk Driving Crash

A Golden Valley man was found guilty Tuesday of killing a young Minneapolis couple while driving drunk at over 100 mph in 2003. Philip Scott Bertelsen, 56, was convicted of criminal vehicular homicide in connection with the deaths of Brandy Banks-Sutta and Melvin Jones on Nov. 3, 2013.

A Bloomington man pleaded guilty Wednesday to one count of criminal vehicular homicide for a crash that killed a Richfield woman. The Dakota County Attorney’s Office says 26-year-old Neftali Paolo Ramirez admitted to drinking before the fatal crash in Burnsville on March 8.

Marine On St. Croix Woman Dies After SUV Hits Tree

A 42-year-old driver is dead after hitting a tree Thursday afternoon in Washington County. The Minnesota State Patrol says the fatal crash happened at about 2:46 p.m. on Highway 95 at Nason Hill Road.

A Bayport man suffered life-threatening injuries Friday morning after crashing into a car and then a concrete wall while being pursued by police in Wisconsin. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation says 48-year-old John Walter Halfmann did not stop when North Hudson police officers attempted to pull him over on northbound WIS 35 on suspicion of drunk driving just before 11 a.m.

A Fargo man accused of being drunk while operating a Zamboni ice-grooming machine during a high school hockey game has pleaded not guilty to driving under the influence. A suspected drunken driver is accused of killing a teenager who had a bright and promising future. Police say a truck driven by 34-year-old Charles Hendricks crashed into a car Monday night in rural Sandstone. Hendricks is in fair condition at North Memorial Hospital.
