A 27-year-old Minot, North Dakota woman was arrested early Saturday morning in Eau Claire, Wisconsin on suspicion of driving under the influence with a 2-year-old in the car. Cassie Lynn Jackson was arrested by the Wisconsin State Patrol at about 3:39 a.m. after she was pulled over for speeding on westbound Interstate 94.
The National Weather Service says a weak tornado has struck the western Wisconsin town of Colfax, but damage reports are minor. Law enforcement tells the weather service the tornado damaged a gas station and knocked down trees Friday afternoon. No injuries are reported.
A University of Wisconsin-Stout student found dead in January had a mix of drugs and alcohol in her system, according to the Menomonie Police Department. Jesse Jensen, 23, was found dead in her bedroom on Jan. 22. Jensen, from Owen, Wis., was a senior at the school. Toxicology tests indicate Jensen had a blood-alcohol level of 0.16 at the time of her death, and had morphine and oxycodone in her system.
