Salvation Army Looking For More Volunteers

The Salvation Army is in need of more volunteers, as the demand for food grows in the Twin Cities.

Between last October and March of this year, the Twin Cities Salvation Army’s eight food shelves served more than 16,700 households. That’s up from 14,500 during the same period last year.

In November 2010, 12-year-old Guadeloupe Galeno-Hernandez was paralyzed after being hit by a stray bullet in the throat, which severed her spine. She spent a month at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, and then six months at St. Paul’s Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare.
