It’s starting to feel like fall, and the brisk weather is perfect for football. On Friday, David McCoy reported on the night’s featured game — Prior Lake at Rosemount. Unlike last week, the results were heavily one-sided. Still, it was a perfect night for football, as long as you brought along a sweatshirt or a blanket.

It’s another big week in high school football across the Twin Cities as now every team has a game under their belt and tangible film to look at. Now we’re in Week 2. Some teams are looking to build on a successful opening win, while others are hoping to celebrate their first win of the fall.
The sound of the whistle and team chants will be never more obvious than Monday, Aug. 12, as teams in all fall sports hit their practice fields to signal the start of the season. Everybody is equal right now, and many football teams are hoping the early two-a-day workouts before school starts will eventually get them to the promise land, the Prep Bowl in November.
