General Mills Completes Plan To Cut About 800 Jobs

General Mills says that it has completed a plan to eliminate about 800 positions. The maker of Cheerios cereal, Yoplait yogurt and other packaged foods also reported mixed results for its fiscal third quarter as a stronger dollar pressured sales.

192K Jobs Added, Unemployment Rate Holds In March

U.S. employers added jobs at a solid pace in March in the latest sign that the economy is rebounding from a weak stretch brought on by a harsh winter. The Labor Department says employers added 192,000 jobs, slightly below February’s total of 197,000.

Minn. January Unemployment Rate At 4.7 Percent

Minnesota’s unemployment rate remained at 4.7 percent in January, with employers adding 600 new jobs. The Department of Employment and Economic Development says Thursday that January’s figure was unchanged from the seasonally adjusted revised rate of 4.7 percent.
