Family Of Girl Nearly Hit By Semi Speaks Out

The young girl nearly hit by a semi truck that illegally passed a school bus late last week said she’s still shaken up from the incident. Sixth grader Alexis Schwartz said she’s trying to keep her mind off last Friday’s incident. “The semi came out of nowhere, almost like, just scared the heck out of me,” she said.

Four people are dead after a two-vehicle crash on Highway 14 near Sleepy Eye. The State Patrol says Saturday morning that the victims are all male. Two were 17 years old, one was 18, and one was 20 years old. Their names and other details were expected to be released at a Saturday news conference.

State Patrol: 300+ Crashes, 100+ Spinouts Monday

Traffic was slow going Monday afternoon in many parts of the metro due to snow and icy conditions. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, there were more than 300 crashes statewide since 9 a.m., and more than 100 vehicle spinouts and cars in ditches. Shelly Walstrom ended up off the road on Highway 36 near Rice Street in Roseville. She says she waited an hour for help.
