The death of a bicyclist on his way to work five-and-a-half years ago is still fresh in the minds of Minneapolis Police. Jim Nisser, 65, was killed in the early morning hours of Sept. 11, 2008. He was biking to his job at the Minikahda Club near Lake Calhoun when he was struck from behind by an SUV at the intersection of Excelsior Boulevard and 32nd Street in Minneapolis.
A 24-year-old Minnetonka woman faces a felony charge for allegedly hitting and seriously injuring a pedestrian last June while texting and driving. Stephanie Deloye is charged with one count of criminal vehicular operation, court documents show. If convicted, she faces a maximum penalty of three years in prison and/ or a $10,000 fine.
Police are searching for those responsible after large rocks were thrown into at least three cars driving along Excelsior Boulevard in St. Louis Park on Tuesday night. Authorities said the rocks smashed through car windows around 10 p.m. between Louisiana Avenue and Blake Road, but no one was hurt.
