We are hearing some good news today about the three children who survived after the car they were in plunged into a pond in St. Louis Park. In fact, one is making what a family friend is calling “a miraculous recovery.”
Driving south on Highway 100 at 6:30 a.m. on Thursday, I heard WCCO-AM’s Steve Murphy reporting on a horrific accident. A car was submerged, people trapped inside. I didn’t hear the location. I remember thinking it was likely somewhere by Lake Minnetonka. Suddenly at St. Louis Park traffic slowed, and I saw an ambulance racing with lights and sirens on in the northbound lane.
The State Patrol says 5-year-old Zenavia Rennie died Thursday night. Family attorney Rick Petry says 7-year-old Alarious Coleman-Guerrido also died Thursday night.
A two-vehicle crash in St. Croix County has left one man dead and another with serious injuries Thursday evening. According to the St. Croix County Sheriff’s office, the fatal accident occurred at 5:24 p.m. on Highway 63, approximately one-quarter miles east of 240th Street in Cylon Township. Isrrael Romos of Clear Lake, 33, was driving a 2000 Honda Civic westbound on HWY 63, and for unknown reasons, he crossed the center line. A 1991 Chevrolet Suburban, driven by 46-year-old Daniel J. Rittman of Menomonie, Wis., struck the passenger side of the Civic.
The Minnesota State Patrol says they are investigating a fatal crash that happened near Milaca Tuesday morning. Few details were immediately available, but the crash happened along Highway 23 at 127th Avenue, about a mile to the west of the city’s elementary and high schools.
A 74-year-old Rockford man was killed Monday after being thrown from an ATV west of the Twin Cities, according to the Wright County Sheriff’s Office.
A female pedestrian was hit and killed by a car while crossing Highway 120 in Maplewood Tuesday night, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. Maplewood Police and the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office responded to the incident at about 5:45 p.m. Tuesday near the area of Highway 120 and 10th Street N.
The driver of a car reported stolen in Fergus Falls is dead after crashing during a police chase in western Minnesota. A Becker County sheriff’s officer spotted the car early Friday and started to chase it.
A window washer died after falling about 70 feet at a hotel in St. Cloud over the weekend. The St. Cloud Police Department said the incident happened at the Best Western Plus Kelly Inn on 4th Avenue South at about 5 p.m. Sunday.
Authorities have identified the two men who were found dead Sunday while boating in northern Minnesota. The Ramsey County Medical Examiner said 44-year-old Lonnie Ray Norberg and 35-year-old Edward Wheeler — both of Champlin, Minn. — died from accidental carbon monoxide poisoning.
A 76-year-old man from Esko is dead after falling off a tractor Wednesday night, according to the Carlton County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities were called to a residence on Hillside Road in Esko at about 7:46 p.m. Wednesday on a report that a man had fallen off a tractor and needed medical assistance.
A 66-year-old man from Montevideo died Sunday after an accident involving a personal watercraft in western Minnesota, authorities said. The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office responded to the accident at about 3:26 p.m. Sunday on the north side of Norway Lake.
Authorities said one person is dead and two others were hurt in a boating accident that happened on the St. Croix River in western Wisconsin late Wednesday night. The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office was called to a boating accident on the river at about 11:45 p.m. Wednesday.
Authorities said a 49-year-old California man was killed last Saturday after being hit by a car in Rogers. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner identified the victim Friday as Kevin Vincent Plummer of Alta Loma, Calif.
Authorities said a 23-year-old man from western Wisconsin died Saturday night after he apparently fell out the back door of a party bus. Ellsworth Police responded to an accident involving a bus at about 11:06 p.m. Saturday on Highway 10 and West Hill.
