Lindstrom Man Killed After Car Strikes Power Pole

A 52-year-old rural Lindstrom man has died after the car he was driving struck a power pole in Franconia Township. The Chisago County sheriff’s office said the crash occurred early Friday. The sheriff’s office is investigating the fatal crash, which occurred after 1 a.m.

Patrol Not Sure Why Fergus Falls Councilman Fled

Authorities say it’s not clear why a Fergus Falls City Council member led police on a chase that ended when he crashed into a squad car and died. The State Patrol says the incident began when 62-year-old Timothy Rundquist fled a state trooper who had stopped him for speeding around 5 p.m. Monday near Elbow Lake.

Man Pleads Guilty In Crash That Killed St. Paul Bride

A New Hampshire man who crashed into a honeymooning couple, killing the bride and seriously wounding her husband, will serve at least 10 years in prison. Forty-four-year-old Matthew Tsopas of Somersworth pleaded guilty Friday to 14 charges, including manslaughter.

Coon Rapids Man Charged with Killing Friend While Driving Drunk

A 21-year-old Coon Rapids man faces criminal charges after admitting to driving drunk in a crash which took the life of his friend last November. Kyle Norman Wold was charged Friday with one count of criminal vehicular homicide and two counts of criminal vehicular operation related to a crash on the early morning of Nov. 22.

Teen Dies In St. Paul Police Chase

A 15-year-old boy is dead after a police chase ended Wednesday morning with a vehicle smashing into a building just south of downtown St. Paul. St. Paul Police say the crash happened at about 12:15 a.m., about 15 minutes after the chase began. Officers initiated a pursuit of a vehicle which had recently been reported stolen near the 2000 block of Suburban Avenue.

UW-Stout Administrator Killed In Crash Involving Deer, Semi

An administrator at the University of Wisconsin-Stout was killed Wednesday evening in a crash involving a deer and a semi truck on Interstate 94. Kay Schnur, 56, was killed near Osseo, Wisconsin just before 7 p.m., according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation. Schnur, from Merrillan, was traveling eastbound on I-94 when her vehicle struck a deer and stopped in the right lane of traffic.

A Minnesota man was killed on an icy Interstate 94 in southeastern North Dakota when his vehicle collided with a tow truck that had stopped to pull other vehicles out of the ditch. The Highway Patrol did not immediately identify the 40-year-old man from Cokato, Minnesota.
