Fatal Snowmobile Accident
A 70-year-old Minnesota man has died following a snowmobile accident in northwestern Wisconsin. According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Robert Kaye of Afton, Minnesota, was riding a snowmobile in Gordon, Wisconsin, on Saturday evening when it went off the path and crashed into trees.
Authorities say alcohol may have been a factor in a fatal snowmobile accident on a Wright County lake early Sunday morning. The Wright County Sheriff’s Office says the accident happened on the shoreline of Ramsey Lake at about 12:51 a.m. near the 5600 block of 33rd St. NW in Maple Lake Township.
Authorities said a 13-year-old girl died Sunday at Gillette Children’s Hospital after injuries suffered Saturday in a western Wisconsin snowmobile accident during a safety training course. Officers were called to the parking lot at Osceola High School at about 9:11 a.m. Saturday on a report of the accident.
A snowmobiler went underwater just off Point Road in Bayport, Minn., Saturday morning and his condition is unknown at this time, police say.
