With Time Running Out, Father & Son Bond On Football Field

The Forest Lake Rangers did not win a football game in the fall of 2014. By most accounts, that would constitute a miserable season. For one head coach, it has been a memory of a lifetime. Jeff Wilson took over the team as the head coach this fall. He added a special offensive line coach — his father, Gary.

Minnesotan Implicated In National Guard Bribery Scheme

Six people were implicated Wednesday in contract-rigging schemes involving the bribery of National Guard officials, and three individuals have pleaded guilty, prosecutors said. The Department of Justice unveiled the charges the individuals face in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. Court documents show the schemes involved two businesses headed by retired National Guardsmen, one from Minnesota and another from Virginia.

3 Seriously Injured In Wash. Co. 3-Car Crash

Three people suffered serious injuries in a three-car crash in Washington County Saturday morning. The Minnesota State Patrol says the crash happened at about 10:15 a.m. at Highway 97 and Healy Avenue near Forest Lake.

Charges: Drunk Man Steals Cheese From Ex’s Fridge

A Forest Lake, Minn. man has been charged with three criminal counts after he allegedly broke into his ex-wife’s house and stole cheese from her refrigerator. The criminal complaint says police in Lino Lakes responded to a call very early the morning of March 28.

Forest Lake PD Seek Suspect In Attempted Sex Assault

Forest Lake Police are asking for the public’s help in finding the suspect in an attempted sexual assault. The incident happened Monday evening in the Washington County Library’s parking lot when a woman was approached by a man in a vehicle who offered her $20 for sexual favors. After the woman told him no, he got out of his car and grabbed her arm and breast.

The Walmart in Forest Lake has been voluntarily evacuated Sunday afternoon due to a potentially dangerous snow load on the roof, according to the police. Police say the evacuation was prompted after an employee noticed what looked like a bend in the roof truss

TCF Bank To Close 8 Cub Foods Branches

TCF Bank announced Wednesday that they will close eight branches locating inside Cub Foods stores by the end of March. According to a company spokesperson, the branches affected are located in Chanhassen, Elk River, Forest Lake, Hastings, Lakeville South, Mankato West, Northfield and Rogers. Chanhassen, Elk River and Forest Lake will still have free-standing TCF locations.

Police: Forest Lake Motorcyclist Collides With Car, Dies

A 40-year-old Forest Lake man died Friday afternoon in Oak Grove when his motorcycle collided with a car at an intersection, authorities said. The Anoka County Sheriff’s Office said the incident took place at 5:08 p.m. at the intersection of Vikings Boulevard and University Avenue.
