Canine Hospice Program Puts Older Dogs In Foster Homes

Older, ailing dogs are often the last to be adopted and the first to be euthanized at a shelter. This spring, non-profit Secondhand Hounds started a hospice program for those otherwise unwanted dogs.

State Patrol: 8-Year-Old Drives Car With 2 Kids Inside

Authorities say an 8-year-old boy drove his foster family’s car with two younger children inside from St. Paul to Mounds View before pulling safely into a random driveway. Minnesota State Patrol spokeswoman Lt. Tiffani Nielson says none of the children or anyone else on the roads were injured.

Help Needed In Locating A Missing Pine Co. Family

Pine County authorities have issued a crime alert and are asking for the public’s help in finding a man and his four children. On Friday, Peter Kunze disappeared along with his two juvenile children, 16-year-old Sean Hanson and her 12-year-old brother, Joshua Kunze.

The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office is investigating whether two men in prison for murder may have been involved with the abduction of Jacob Wetterling. Delbert and Tim Huber of Paynesville – who are father and son – murdered Albertville teacher Tim Larson in a dispute over $50 in 2011.

Henn. Co. Teen Birth Rate In Decline

For the fifth consecutive year, the number of teenagers who gave birth in Hennepin County has decreased. According to Hennepin County officials, the number of teen births in 2007 was 1,170. In 2011, the number was 692. Teenagers are defined in the data as young women aged 15-19.
