A gas leak that led to a road closure in Bloomington has been stopped Thursday morning. According to Bloomington police, shortly before 5 a.m. a gas leak was reported near Old Cedar Avenue in Bloomington.
Buildings were evacuated in south Minneapolis Wednesday afternoon after fire officials detected natural gas following a report of a leak. Workers at a grain elevator at 35th Street and Hiawatha Avenue called 911 to report a strong smell of natural gas at about 4:30 p.m., according to a CenterPoint Energy spokesperson. Minneapolis Fire crews did not detect a leak in the grain elevator, but did find a leak on the street nearby.

Barbara Olson, the director of school and community relations for Osseo Area Schools, says her office was alerted about 1 p.m. that a gas-like odor caused a precautionary evacuation of the school.
