Minn. To Open Trade Office In Germany

Gov. Mark Dayton says the state will open a European trade office in Germany to promote exports and foreign investment back in Minnesota. Dayton’s administration announced the new outpost while the governor was traveling in Germany as part of a 10-day trade mission.

AP Reporter Tells Of Finding Alleged Ex-Nazi In NE Mpls.

An Associated Press investigation revealed Friday that a resident of Northeast Minneapolis was once a commander for a Nazi-led unit during World War II. According to the AP, 94-year-old Michael Karkoc entered the U.S. by lying to American authorities.

A top commander of a Nazi SS-led unit accused of burning villages filled with women and children lied to American immigration officials to get into the United States and has been living in Minnesota since shortly after World War II, according to evidence uncovered by The Associated Press.

Dayton, Trade Delegation Are Bound For Sweden

Gov. Mark Dayton and the members of a Minnesota trade delegation are headed to Sweden for the first stop of a 10-day mission. The 35-person delegation of public and private sector officials was leaving Minnesota on Wednesday afternoon and won’t return to the state until June 21.
