Gopher Women’s Basketball
The Minnesota women’s basketball team is headed to the Big Ten tournament. The Gophers have the eighth seed after going 6-10 in conference play this season.
Brittany Rayburn tied an NCAA women’s record with 12 3-pointers and scored 38 points to help the No. 17 Purdue Boilermakers cruise to a 72-55 win over Minnesota on Thursday night.
Kiara Buford has been playing against Tayler Hill for years. The two guards — Buford with St. Paul Central and Hill with Minneapolis South — have had their share of battles in high school and now in college.
The Gophers women’s basketball team beat Air Force Wednesday night at Williams Arena and once again they were led by freshman Rachel Banham with 18 points. She’s definitely making her presence felt on the floor.
