Peaceful Rally At U Over Ferguson Decision

A rally at the University of Minnesota over events in Ferguson, Missouri, is unfolding peacefully. Several hundred people have gathered on the steps of Coffman Union to show solidarity with Michael Brown, the young man black man shot and killed by white police officer Darren Wilson in August. Violence erupted Monday night in Ferguson after a grand jury declined to indict Wilson.

Mendota Heights Officer’s Alleged Killer Indicted By Grand Jury

Brian George Fitch Sr., 39, of Mendota Heights, has been charged with one count of first degree murder, three counts of attempted murder and one count of illegal possession of a firearm, the Dakota County Attorney’s Office announced Friday.

1st-Degree Murder Charges In Schunk Killing

A grand jury in Dakota County has indicted two people for first-degree murder in the death of a University of Minnesota student who was stabbed to death in a Rosemount town house. Shavelle Oscar Chavez-Nelson, 32, and Ashley Marie Conrade, 24, were also indicted for second-degree murder in the death of 20-year-old Anarae Schunk.

3 Indicted In Drug-Related Mpls. Murder

Three people are indicted of first-degree premeditated murder in the drug-related shooting death of a Minneapolis man in March. Maureen Onyelobi, David Johnson and Maurice Wilson were indicted Friday by a grand jury, according to the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office.

Grand Jury Indicts 2 In 1999 Minneapolis Killing

A grand jury has indicted two St. Paul men in a 15-year-old murder case. Authorities allege 32-year-old Earl Vang, of St. Paul, was one of two men who shot and killed 19-year-old Miguel McElroy outside a north Minneapolis convenience store July 9, 1999, after a drug deal went bad.

Minnetonka Cops Cleared Of Wrongdoing In Fatal Shooting

A Hennepin County grand jury has cleared two Minnetonka Police officers of any wrongdoing in the fatal shooting of a 27-year-old man in October of last year, according to Minnetonka city officials. Officers James Comings and Ryan Smith shot Michael Tray several times in the underground parking garage of the Claremont Apartments in Minnetonka on the evening of Oct. 23, 2013. Police were initially called on a report of a man with a gun near the apartments. When the officers arrived, they found Tray in the parking garage. Shots were fired, and Tray was killed.

Chisago Grand Jury Indicts Man In Jelinek’s Death

A Chisago County grand jury has indicted 29-year-old Aaron Jude Schnagl on third-degree murder charges in the death of Danielle Jelinek. Jelinek was 27 years old when she went missing on Dec. 9, 2012.

Jury Finds Man Guilty Of Sex Trafficking Teen Girl In St. Paul

A Ramsey County jury found a Chicago man guilty in the sex trafficking of a 15-year-old girl in St. Paul in April 2013. Arteco Marvell Rhodes, 38, was found guilty of possession of child pornography and he will be sentenced at 9 a.m. on Dec. 13.

A 23-year-old woman admitted Thursday that she lied to a grand jury investigating the long-running case of young men who left Minnesota to join a terrorist group in Somalia. Saynab Hussein pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Minnesota to one count of perjury.

Dozens Rally Outside Mpls. Police Dept. For Terrance Franklin

Chanting “no justice, no peace” a group of a couple of dozen protesters gathered outside the Minneapolis Police Department headquarters on Saturday afternoon. Organizers demand justice for 22-year-old Terrence Franklin who was killed by Minneapolis police in a basement shootout in Uptown back on May 10. Police said Franklin shot and injured two Minneapolis officers.
