The 2014 fishing season has officially kicked off, with the state’s lieutenant governor taking a quick 2-0 lead over Gov. Mark Dayton in walleye catches. Dayton and Lt. Gov. Yvonne Prettner Solon began the fishing season Saturday morning at one minute after midnight. They and others took to the waters at the Grand View Lodge on Gull Lake in Nisswa.
The Governor’s Fishing Opener kicks off the walleye and northern pike season at midnight Friday. This year’s festivities are being held in the Brainerd Lakes Area. Gov. Mark Dayton will fish out of Grand View Lodge in Nisswa on Gull Lake.
