The graves of three Minnesotans killed during the Civil War will be re-dedicated this weekend. In St. Peter, a new grave marker will be dedicated to Capt. Asgrim Skaro of the Ninth Minnesota Infantry Company D.
Police in southeastern Minnesota are looking into a rash of robberies in which thieves target cemeteries, taking brass markers that show a deceased veteran’s military service.
They served our country and now police say veterans are being disrespected. Police want to find whoever is stealing from their graves. The thieves took dozens of brass rods that hold a veterans’ symbols of service.
Police are asking for the public’s help in finding the person or people responsible for a vandalism spree in Plymouth over the weekend, including the toppling and damaging of 45 gravestones at a church.
There were two separate incidents that happened on April 28 and June 4 at the Adath Chesed Shel Emes Cemetery in Crystal, poilce said.
