An attempt by the U.S. Marshal Service to execute an arrest warrant led to a car chase and an exchange of gunfire on a busy northeast Minneapolis street Wednesday afternoon. According to Minneapolis Police, the U.S. Marshal Service was executing the warrant near 13th Avenue and Grand Street Northeast when the suspect fled in an SUV. Authorities attempted to stop the suspect four blocks away on 16th Avenue and Marshall Street when gunfire was exchanged. No one was struck, and the suspect fled again.
A man is dead and a sheriff’s deputy was shot in the arm after a shootout Wednesday near Brainerd. Officers were called to check on someone on Sleepy Hollow Road in Crow Wing County on Wednesday afternoon. When officers arrived, they found a man in a tree with a gun.
