Man Pleads Guilty To 2009 Attempted Murder In Burnsville

A 22-year-old Eagan man has pleaded guilty to second-degree intentional attempted murder — and was subsequently sentenced — in connection to an assault that occurred in a Burnsville townhome on April 7, 2009, the Dakota County Attorney’s Office announced Tuesday.

Demolition began on the Hastings Bridge this Wednesday, as motorists in the Twin Cities bid farewell to “Old Blue.” Crews started tearing down the landmark bridge at 7 a.m. The demolition crews will begin by removing the decking on the downtown side.

Hastings Man Charged With Robbery At Knife-Point

The Hastings man arrested for allegedly robbing a gas station at knife-point before fleeing on a “light colored kids bike” was charged with felony first-degree aggravated robbery. According to the charges, Joseph Robert Olson, 27, robbed the gas station on Vermillion Street at 5:08 a.m. on May 22 while wielding a 4-inch knife. Surveillance video helped police identify Olson.
