Two 54-year-old men were involved in two separate farming accidents on two separate farms in Stockholm Township, with one reported dead from his injuries. According to the Wright County Sheriff’s office, the first accident happened on Friday evening when a 54-year-old man from Hutchinson was trying to remove corn stalks that were jamming a corn chopper on a farm on Quimby Avenue Southwest, near Cokato. His jacket got caught, and the man was pulled in to the machine. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A Dassel-Cokato high school linebacker who collapsed on the field unconscious during a game is responding to doctors and family members following surgery for a serious head injury. According to Perry Thenison, Dassel-Cokato K-12 school’s activities director, Luke Nelson was hurt Saturday night during a football game. Thenison says Nelson, 16, is resting after undergoing surgery Saturday night, and is active and alert.

The Minneapolis man found suffering from stab wounds on Sunday has died, according to authorities. Minneapolis police said the victim was located at 10:54 a.m. on Aug. 11 on the 2200 block of Portland Avenue South.
