Two people are dead after two separate incidents occurred overnight in south Minneapolis. One was shot, the other stabbed. The shooting happened just before midnight Friday on the 2700 block of Blaisdell Avenue South.
Minneapolis police say a 39-year-old man was critically injured in an Uptown hit-and-run early Friday morning. According to police spokesman John Elder, at around 2 a.m., a man was on foot in the middle of the street near Lyndale Avenue and 26th Street when he was struck by a vehicle traveling southbound on Lyndale. The victim was thrown into the air and landed “some distance” from where he was struck, Elder said.
