The Hennepin County medical examiner’s officer has identified a body pulled from a Plymouth lake as that of a missing kayaker. The medical examiner says 31-year-old Paul Myklebust of St. Louis Park apparently drowned. His death was ruled accidental.
An Isanti, Minn. man died Friday morning after being involved in a motorcycle accident early Thursday morning. According to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner, Warren Jay Ploof, 50, died early Friday morning from injuries he sustained in the crash.

A man who was shot in 2013 has died due to complications from the gunshot wood. Larry Jones, 41, was shot on Nov. 4 in the 2000 block of Irving Avenue North. According to police, Jones was a passenger in a car when the shooting took place. Witnesses of the shooting said it may have been drug related.
An elderly man who was injured in a fire earlier this month died Thursday afternoon. According to Hennepin County Medical Center, Myron Eugene Pigman, 80, died from burn injuries he sustained during a fire a week earlier. The fire happened on May 17 in the 8300 block of 460th Avenue in Lakefield, Minn.
You might think the life of a medical examiner is macabre, but that’s not the case for Dr. Lindsay Thomas of Hennepin County. Thomas says last year the county did about 1,100 autopsies, including about 77 homicides. “It’s really the minority,” Thomas said. She goes into each case with a presumption based on the evidence.
A 63-year-old Richfield man that was killed after being struck by a vehicle early Sunday has been identified. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner identified the pedestrian as Michael Lindholm.

Authorities have identified a man who was shot and killed by his son in an apparent murder-suicide that happened early Monday morning in Brooklyn Center. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner identified the victim Wednesday as 65-year-old Gilbert Ramos Avieda of Brooklyn Center.
Eden Prairie police found a woman and a man dead Saturday in a shooting that prompted the evacuation of an apartment building for several hours. Investigators weren’t immediately able to say whether the deaths were a murder-suicide or double-homicide, police spokeswoman Katie Bengtson said. But authorities are not looking for suspects, she added. A resident of the Eden Place apartment complex called 911 about 7 a.m. Saturday to report shots being fired in another unit. The Eden Prairie SWAT team and officers from other nearby suburban departments responded and surrounded the building.
A Minneapolis woman’s death has been ruled a homicide by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s office. The body of Nerissa Annette Shaw, 46, was found wrapped in a sheet along the 5000 block of Cedar Lake Road in St. Louis Park on Tuesday. Authorities say Shaw died from multiple blunt-force injuries. Police arrested 54-year-old Walter Thompson III, also of Minneapolis, on probable cause of second-degree homicide. Thompson and Shaw had a history of domestic issues, and he was currently on probation for violating an order of protection involving the victim.
Authorities have identified the man found dead in a Shorewood home last month, and the woman accused of killing him is facing murder charges. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office said the victim is identified as 58-year-old Eddie Frank Sole of Shorewood.
A Brooklyn Center man who was shot to death Thursday night in Minneapolis has been identified. According to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner, 32-year-old Chukwumah Terrell Okolie was shot multiple times at 42nd Ave. N. and Fremont Avenue North, and was pronounced dead at 10:50 p.m. Minneapolis Police continue to investigate this homicide.
Authorities said Tuesday they’ve identified the woman who was shot in her car last Saturday morning and later died from her injuries. Police said that just after 2 a.m. last Saturday, two women were driving at the corner of Washington Avenue North and 26th Avenue North when shots were fired from a car that pulled up next to them.
Authorities said Thursday night a death investigation in Champlin involving a 4-month-old baby dating back to February has been ruled a homicide. Few details about the case have been made available, but the Hennepin County Medical Examiner identified the victim as Madyson Lanae Johnson of Champlin.
