Authorities are investigating after a toddler went missing in Minnetonka for more than five hours Tuesday night before eventually being located in her mother’s vehicle. Police were called 10761 Smetana Road at about 11:53 p.m. Tuesday on a report of a missing 2-and-a-half year-old girl.

The Hennepin County Sheriff’s office responded to 25 rescue calls out on the lakes last winter from people falling through the ice. Three people were killed. “The most important thing is to stay calm,” he said.
