Hennepin History Museum
We’re definitely in a weird patch at the moment, with chilly, rainy weather at this writing, and more rain and low temperatures possible for the coming weekend. Of course, we can expect the heat to return next week, as it often does when the Minnesota State Fair opens. But until then, if you’re looking for some indoor entertainment, take a look at what’s happening in the museum world.
Wade from Brainerd is already tired of mosquitoes this summer, but he still wants to know: What do mosquitoes eat? According to the American Mosquito Control Association, only females feed on blood because they require the protein to produce eggs.
Some chairs used by famous Minnesotans are on display at the Hennepin County Government Center in downtown Minneapolis. Included is a chair used by singer Bob Dylan at the Ten O’clock Scholar Coffee House in February 1960.
Just south of downtown Minneapolis, past the Stevens Square neighborhood is the Washburn-Fair Oaks Mansion district. There is a central neighborhood park full of large mature trees, and the surrounding neighborhood is home to quiet, stately houses.
