Baby Boy Only Suffers Bruise After Car Collides With Northstar Train

A baby boy is safe at home Tuesday after surviving a run-in with a train. Anja Bochenski’s 15-month-old son, Henry, was in the back seat when a northbound Northstar train crossing Proctor Avenue and Highway 10 in Elk River struck the car’s passenger side around 7 a.m. Monday.

Pedestrian Hit & Killed In Sauk Rapids

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a motorist Saturday evening in Sauk Rapids, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. The fatal accident happened at 5:36 p.m. on Highway 10 near County Road 13, when a 1990 Buick Century driven by Angela Lott, 37, left the southbound lane, hitting and killing the pedestrian. Lott, from Sauk Rapids, suffered non-life threatening injuries. The identity of the victim has not yet been released.

It’s been a tough summer for Jimmy John’s delivery driver Joshua McClain. “The way [the] highway is is just stopping our business from getting here,” McClain said. “So I’m not getting in as many hours of work. And I mean, just to get anyplace, period, 694 is a highway that everybody uses.”

MnDOT: Sinkhole Has Highway 10 Partially Closed

An Elk River sinkhole has the left lane of westbound Highway 10, just east of Main Street, closed, MnDOT said. Crews are working and the lane is expected to re-open by 4 p.m. Friday as the pavement needs more time to set because of the hot weather.
