Bicyclist Struck In Oak Park Heights Hit-And-Run Dies

A bicyclist who was struck by a hit-and-run driver Saturday night was removed from life support Wednesday, according to her family. Mai D. Yang and her husband, E Xiong, were hit by a driver on 60th Street North in Oak Park Heights, which is a frontage road along Highway 36.

Pedestrian, 79, Dead After Being Hit By Car In Roseville

Police said a 79-year-old man died Monday morning after being hit by a car while he was crossing a busy street in Roseville. Charles R. Betts, of Roseville, died after being struck by a vehicle on Snelling Avenue Monday.

Stretch Of I-35E Closed From Little Canada To St. Paul

A busy stretch of interstate in the east metro is closed this weekend as crews take down a couple of bridges. I-35E between I-94 in downtown St. Paul, Minn. and Highway 36 in Little Canada, Minn. closed Friday evening and will reopen Monday. Crews are tearing down the Larpenteur Avenue and Gateway State Trail bridges.

State Patrol: 300+ Crashes, 100+ Spinouts Monday

Traffic was slow going Monday afternoon in many parts of the metro due to snow and icy conditions. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, there were more than 300 crashes statewide since 9 a.m., and more than 100 vehicle spinouts and cars in ditches. Shelly Walstrom ended up off the road on Highway 36 near Rice Street in Roseville. She says she waited an hour for help.

Summer Construction Season At Halfway Point

When your motto is making “freaky fast” deliveries, the last thing you need to see are orange barrels and detour signs. It’s been a tough summer for Jimmy John’s delivery driver Joshua McClain. “The way [the] highway is is just stopping our business from getting here,” McClain said. “So I’m not getting in as many hours of work. And I mean, just to get anyplace, period, 694 is a highway that everybody uses.”

New St. Croix River Bridge Project Officially Underway

Officials are set to break ground Tuesday afternoon on the new bridge that will once again connect Minnesota and Wisconsin over the St. Croix River. The ground breaking for the St. Croix River Crossing is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. It’s the bridge that will replace the Stillwater Lift Bridge.
