Mille Lacs Band To Host Hand Drum Contest

The Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe is showcasing a bit of tribal culture during a weekend hand drum contest at Grand Casino in Hinckley. The Saturday afternoon contest is free and open to the public. Teams from across the Midwest and Canada are expected to participate for their chance at a top prize.

Millions of dollars’ worth of marijuana went up in smoke Wednesday after a big find in a Minnesota field. Sheriff’s deputies in Pine County loaded 5,500 plants into a dump truck and sent them to an incinerator.

Public Helps Locate Suspect In Hinckley Hit-And-Run Death

A public tip has helped authorities arrest a man in connection with the hit-and-run crash that killed a man from Wyoming, Minn., earlier this month. According to the Department of Public Safety, Derek Anthony Sanders, 31, of Wyoming, Minn., was taken into custody from his parents’ residence Wednesday morning without incidence.

3 Cyclists Injured In Saturday’s MS-150 Bike Ride

The MS-150 bike ride will end Sunday in White Bear Lake without three cyclists who were hurt during a bad crash on Saturday. It happened around 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Sandstone, shortly after the cyclists left Hinckley on day two of the ride.
