Driver In Dinkytown Fatal Hit & Run Ordered To Pay $138K To Victim

A Hennepin County judge has ordered the man sentenced for a fatal hit in run near the University of Minnesota campus to pay more than $138,000 to one of his victims. Peter Riley, the attorney for victim Sarah Bagley, says Judge Phillip Bush ordered Timothy Bakdash Wednesday to pay money to Bagley for medical expenses and pain and suffering compensation. Bagley, along with her friends Ben Van Handel and Katelynn Hanson, were on foot when they were struck by Bakdash, who was driving his car the wrong way on 5th Street Southeast in Dinkytown on April 15, 2011.

According to the Department of Public Safety, Derek Anthony Sanders, 31, of Wyoming, Minn., was taken into custody from his parents’ residence Wednesday morning without incidence.
