The trial for Jeffery Trevino, the St. Paul man accused of killing his wife, Kira Steger, resumed Monday. Jurors heard from Ryan Wendt, the man with whom Steger was having an affair. Wendt, Steger’s manager at Delia’s, testified that their friendship turned romantic about a month before she died. He said he knew she was married and their relationship was ending, though they didn’t discuss their relationships. Steger told him she was separating from Trevino.
One person is dead after a shooting outside a bar in Burnsville, Minn. It happened outside the parking lot of Nina’s Grill around 2 a.m. Sunday, according to police.
A Minneapolis woman’s death has been ruled a homicide by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s office. The body of Nerissa Annette Shaw, 46, was found wrapped in a sheet along the 5000 block of Cedar Lake Road in St. Louis Park on Tuesday. Authorities say Shaw died from multiple blunt-force injuries. Police arrested 54-year-old Walter Thompson III, also of Minneapolis, on probable cause of second-degree homicide. Thompson and Shaw had a history of domestic issues, and he was currently on probation for violating an order of protection involving the victim.
The man arrested in connection with the double murder in Granite Falls, Minn. has now been charged with two counts of second-degree murder in the case.
Police say they’ve arrested a man in connection with the death of a 46-year-old woman, whose body was found wrapped in a sheet along Cedar Lake Road on Tuesday. St. Louis Park police have 54-year-old Walter Thompson III, of Minneapolis, in custody. Police said he had been involved in a long and violent relationship with the victim, Nerissa Annette Shaw, 46, of Minneapolis.
St. Cloud police are investigating after a 72-year-old woman died early Saturday morning from multiple stab wounds. Authorities were called to the scene at 3:58 a.m. on Saturday at the 400 block of 33rd Avenue South. Lois Arlene Omeara was found dead, and Dean Allan Friese, 52, of St. Cloud, was arrested and booked at the Stearns County Jail on homicide charges.
Roseville Police have identified the two men involved in a murder-suicide that happened Thursday afternoon. Police say 44-year-old Cheng Vang from Roseville shot and killed his wife’s co-worker – 33-year old Joseph Yang from Brooklyn Park – before turning the gun on himself. The incident happened at 4:15 p.m. in the parking lot of CPI Card Group in the 1900 block of West County Road B2, where Cheng’s wife, Yong Vang, worked with Yang.
A man who was found dead, lying in the parking lot of a business in Shoreview, has been identified. Authorities were called to the business on the 5700 block of Hamline Avenue in Shoreview around 6:40 a.m. on Aug. 29. Upon arrival, they found a man who was already deceased.
The Minnesota Department of Public Safety said Wednesday they’ve located the 1996 GMC Sierra pick-up truck that they believe belongs to Andrew Joseph Dikken, a person of interest in the case. Authorities said the truck was found in a remote location about five miles north of Belview, Minn.
A 24-year-old St. Paul man is accused of choking and killing a St. Paul woman Sunday morning. Sammy Devel Henderson faces two charges of second-degree murder, which carry maximum potential sentences of 40 years in prison per charge.
A Minneapolis man who was robbed and assaulted in Downtown Minneapolis last month has died of his injuries. Forty-four-year-old Adrian Hernandez was hurt almost two weeks ago at 10th Street and Hennepin Avenue.

A Brooklyn Center man who was shot to death Thursday night in Minneapolis has been identified. According to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner, 32-year-old Chukwumah Terrell Okolie was shot multiple times at 42nd Ave. N. and Fremont Avenue North, and was pronounced dead at 10:50 p.m. Minneapolis Police continue to investigate this homicide.
A suspicious death investigation in Shoreview has changed to a homicide investigation, according to the Ramsey County Sheriff’s office. Authorities say a man was found slumped over outside of a building, dead of an apparent gunshot wound on early Thursday morning. The man, described as African American in his late 20s or early 30s, was found in the 5700 block of Hamline Avenue North, and was without identification.
Police have identified the two dead bodies who were discovered inside a vehicle in south Minneapolis Sunday evening. Officers responded to the 2600 block of 18th Avenue South at about 8:30 p.m. Sunday after a call of shots fired in an alley.
