Two people were found dead by fire crews in a Minneapolis home early Tuesday evening. Firefighters responded to a report of a fire at a single-family home at 2940 Washburn Ave. N. just before 6:30 p.m. Crews entered the home and quickly put out a fire in the living room. While searching the house, firefighters found two people dead in a bedroom.

Seven residents living on the main floor made it out alive, including Taleaha Cox. Seconds later, she heard Troy’s screams coming from the second floor. “My little brother’s like, ‘I think the house is on fire.’ And then all I heard was the man upstairs like, ‘Help! Police! Fire, fire, fire! Police!’” Cox said. “He was hanging out the window.”
