An Anoka man who climbed atop a north Minneapolis home after fleeing law enforcement was charged Friday with multiple crimes. The Hennepin County Attorney’s office says Richard Dean Podvin, 37, is charged with two counts of fifth-degree drug possession, one count of first-degree burglary, one count of a prohibited person in possession of a gun and one count of fleeing police in a motor vehicle.
Minneapolis fire officials now believe someone intentionally set a weekend fire at an abandoned house. It happened early Sunday morning at 2508 Humboldt Avenue North. The house sustained extensive damage, but there were no injuries.
Music will still be played at a north Minneapolis church despite losing its most important instrument to arson.
Police have teamed up with Crime Stoppers to find the suspect in the April 2 shooting that killed 34-year-old Tommy Bardney on the 1000 block of Humboldt Avenue North in Minneapolis.
