One person is dead after being hit on I-94 in Minneapolis while running across the freeway. The State Patrol says Kyle Day, 28, was attempting to cross the interstate near 7th Street when he was hit by a Ford Explorer. The SUV, which was carrying two passengers, then rolled after the impact.
Authorities have identified the 44-year-old driver who died in a multivehicle crash caused by icy road conditions on Interstate 94 in central Minnesota. A couple towing a boat to northern Minnesota got a surprise visitor: a bald eagle crashed through the shrink wrap while they were traveling on Interstate 94 in Wisconsin. For more than a year, Keith Barnes has undergone physical therapy to get back to what he loves to do — cut hair. Barnes stopped at an accident scene in December of 2011 to help a woman who was involved in a rollover accident. He was carrying the woman to safety when a drunk driver hit them. He suffered seriously injuries and his left leg was amputated below the knee.
After four months of construction, the Portland Avenue Bridge, spanning I-94 and I-35W, is set to re-open at 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 23.Portland Avenue between East 16th Street and East 17th Street will re-open. The right lane of westbound I-94 one mile west of Wright County Road closed Tuesday evening due to a buckled concrete panel. Crews will repair the segment of pavement, located west of Albertville, on Tuesday night and all westbound lanes will reopen by 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Police in Minneapolis are looking for clues after a body was found along I-94. Someone discovered the body near the 11th Street exit during the morning rush hour. The exit is near the construction site of the Park Avenue bridge that spans I-94. Investigators haven’t said who the person was or how they died. Police had to block a lane of the busy interstate while they investigated.
