Ice Fishing Extravaganza
It’s a “go” for the 25th annual Brainerd Jaycees $150,000 Ice Fishing Extravaganza. The Crow Wing County sheriff’s office met with representatives from the Brainerd Jaycees on Gull Lake’s Hole in the Day Bay on Wednesday to verify ice conditions.
The Brainerd Jaycees are holding their 24th annual Ice Fishing Extravaganza on Gull Lake. Organizers say over 10,000 anglers are expected to compete Saturday for one of 150 prizes valued at more than $200,000.
Tickets go on sale Friday for the Brainerd Jaycees 24th annual Ice Fishing Extravaganza. The contest is set for Jan. 25, 2014, on Gull Lake’s Hole in the Day Bay north of Brainerd.
The ice is thick enough for the 23rd annual Brainerd Jaycees $150,000 Ice Fishing Extravaganza. The Crow Wing County sheriff’s office issued organizers an event permit Thursday.
Thousands of people are expected to gather on frozen Gull Lake on Saturday for what’s billed as the world’s largest ice fishing event.
