WCCO viewers picked their favorite farmers market in the state and the winner just happened to be the location that Zagat named as one of the eight must-visit farmers markets in the county. It’s the St. Paul Farmers Market, a market celebrating 160 years in the making. This is what sets St. Paul apart is the freshness of its products.
Zagat just ranked the St. Paul Farmers Market as one of the nation’s top five. But getting to the market just got harder. Because of construction for the new St. Paul Saints stadium, the spots where market shoppers typically park are now off limits. It’s upset neighbors who live in the area because the construction zone has taken away their parking. The city says it’s working with housing associations to find closer options.
After a week delay, the St. Paul Farmer’s market is up and running for the spring and summer months.
It’s opening a week later than usual, but rain, snow or shine, the show will go on for the St. Paul Farmer’s Market in Lowertown.
Earlier this week, Gov. Mark Dayton declared it Farmers Market Week in Minnesota. That’s a big deal, since there are more than 150 farmers markets statewide.
