After a 5-0 win Friday night, the No. 1-ranked University of Minnesota men’s hockey team completed a weekend sweep of Notre Dame Sunday with a 4-2 win at Mariucci Arena. The Gophers (7-1-0) scored three first-period goals in the win. They also extended their home winning streak, the longest currently in college hockey, to 17 games.
After his first career hat trick on Saturday, Justin Kloos of the University of Minnesota hockey team was named the Second Star of the Week by the Big Ten Conference on Tuesday. Kloos, of Lakeville, netted a hat trick against St. Cloud State to lead the Gophers to a 4-3 victory in overtime after Minnesota lost to the Huskies in St. Cloud 4-1 on Friday night.
Justin Kloos scored twice and Adam Wilcox made 24 saved shots to help top-seeded Minnesota beat St. Cloud State 4-0 on Sunday in the NCAA West Regional final. Minnesota (27-6-6) will face North Dakota in the Frozen Four semifinals in Philadelphia on April 10. Boston College will play Union in the other semifinal.

The Gophers, ranked No. 1 in the nation, didn’t score any goals in the shootout and goalie Adam Wilcox stopped two of the three shots he faced.
