Kansas City Chiefs
The Cincinnati Bengals haven’t won an NFL playoff game since January 6, 1990. They beat the Houston Oilers—right there, that tells you it was a long time ago—by a 41-14 score in the wild-card round of the AFC playoffs. Since then, the Bengals have lost all five postseason contests they’ve played in. That needs to change this weekend.
The Green Bay Packers do not have many holes in their game as they enter the playoffs as the No. 2 seed in the NFC. However, one is their blocking in the kicking game. They allowed more combined blocked field goals, extra point attempts and punts than they had in the previous five seasons combined.
New England’s offensive coordinator says he’s happy where he is, but at least one NFL team is seriously interested in interviewing him.
Teddy Bridgewater has learned on the fly since taking over as the Minnesota Vikings quarterback after Matt Cassel was injured in Week 3. Head coach Mike Zimmer is happy with the progress the rookie first round draft pick has made in his 10 starts. The Vikings are 0-5 in divisional games this season. They have one game left to get Zimmer’s first win against a division-rival. Linebacker Chad Greenway is one of eight finalists for the inaugural NFL’s Sportsmanship Award.
The Minnesota Vikings travel south to play the Miami Dolphins in their last road game of the season. The Dolphins are 7-7 and still alive for a playoff spot in the AFC. They are led on offense by quarterback Ryan Tannehill and wide receivers Mike Wallace and Jarvis Landry. On defense, they are led by pass rushing specialist Cameron Wake.
The Minnesota Vikings complete a three-game home stand against the New York Jets on Sunday. The Vikings just completed a lopsided victory over the Carolina Panthers at TCF Bank Stadium. The strength of the Jets, on both sides of the ball, is running the ball. They are third in rushing yards and rushing yards allowed per game heading into their Monday night game. The Vikings will be favored.
The Oakland Raiders upset the Kansas City Chiefs last night 24-20 for their first win of the season. With the loss, the Chiefs (7-4) are no longer tied atop the AFC West with the Broncos.
Head coach Andy Reid won’t let his team let up against the Raiders and blow an opportunity for a victory, and quarterback Alex Smith is too smart to take any opponent lightly.
With Kansas City’s impressive win against the Seahawks on Sunday and Denver’s shocking loss to the Rams, the Chiefs (7-3) are tied for first in the AFC West. After an 0-2 start, they’ll look for their sixth straight win and eighth in their last nine games.
Week 10 of the 2014 NFL regular season has a lot of big games on the schedule and that includes two big AFC contests that include match-ups between potential playoff teams. Steve Tasker of CBS Sports took some time to discuss the “Thursday Night Football” game between the Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals and then a Sunday match-up between the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs.
From players to referees to fans, everyone is getting in on the Week 9 action…but maybe not in the way they imagined. Here’s 5 people who were in the right (or wrong) place at the right time…

The last time Matt Cassel stepped inside Arrowhead Stadium, banners were flying overhead for him to be benched. He had been booed at a recent celebrity softball game and become a scapegoat for an entire organization during hard ti
Running back Jamaal Charles has become a veritable workhorse for the Kansas City Chiefs, and it is not surprising since he’s one of the best backs in the entire NFL. With a new contract extension in place, the Chiefs hope for another great season out of Charles, and they’re likely going to get one.
Every game this weekend has fascinating plots, from Cincinnati trying to break their playoff futility to the Frozen Tundra earning its sobriquet with a 30-below wind chill expected Sunday.
