Sheriff: Suspect Killed Doctor Who Helped Deliver Him

The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Department says there is no doubt that 74-year-old Dr. Stephen Larson was murdered by 30-year-old Ted Hoffstrom, who was just recently sworn in as a licensed attorney.

Suspect ID’d In Doctor’s Slaying

Dr. Stephen Larson is being remembered by his patients, after being shot to death inside his home Friday night in Orono. According to the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office, police were called to the home on the 1000 block of Heritage Road just before 9 p.m., where they found a man in the front of the property with a handgun.

2 Dead After Fire Destroys Isanti County Home

Two people are dead after fire swept through their rural Isanti county home. The fire was discovered shortly before noon on Thursday near the town of Braham, and the names of the deceased will be released once family has been notified.

No Charges After Autopsy Says 2 Horses Shot, Killed With Handgun

The Washington County man accused of killing two horses was released from jail Friday morning. Authorities said they are still reviewing the case against William St. Sauver, Jr., adding that they are not able to charge him at this time.

A 3rd Man Pleads Guilty In Death Of Mpls. Man

The last of three men charged with killing a man by jumping on him “like a trampoline” has pleaded guilty. Tony Baker, 34, of Brooklyn Center, was originally charged with second-degree murder in the death of 41-year-old Kerry Scott. He will be sentenced at 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 18 and is expected to be sent to prison for 64 months.

Minn. Woman Convicted Of Animal Cruelty

A Dakota County dog kennel owner accused of drowning puppies has been convicted of felony animal cruelty. A jury on Friday convicted 62-year-old Dayna Bell of Northfield on 13 counts. She was acquitted on one count.

Woman Sentenced For Role In Hit-And-Run Death Of Macalester Student

A 28-year-old St. Paul woman was sentenced for her role in the hit-and-run death of a Macalester student in September 2012. Danielle Keller was recently sentenced to 25 days in prison and a $150 fine for careless driving.

Police: Man Dies After Hitting Clothesline While On ATV

A 53-year-old man died Wednesday in Dodge County when he hit a clothesline cable as he was riding an ATV, authorities said. According to Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, authorities received a 911 call at about 5:03 p.m. to the 63000 block of 280th Avenue in Byron, Minn.

Friends Of Woman Killed In Hit-And-Run Hope Driver Comes Forward

St. Paul police say a woman who was struck by a hit-and-run driver has died. Police say 53-year-old Therese Klotz of St. Paul was struck Friday about 6:40 p.m. She had just dropped off a passenger and gotten out of her car to talk with the woman as the woman walked toward a house.

85-Year-Old Man Hit, Killed By Vehicle In Cottage Grove

Authorities are investigating after a man was struck and killed by a SUV on 70th Street near Goodview Avenue in Cottage Grove. Police say officers, paramedics and fire responded to the scene at 2:04 p.m. Tuesday and found the victim unresponsive.

Shakopee Shooting Victim ID’d

Authorities have released the name of a man who was fatally shot in Shakopee. The Hennepin County medical examiner’s office identified the victim Thursday as 32-year-old Aaron James Moran of Shakopee. The medical examiner says Moran died of multiple gunshot wounds.
