The Washington County man accused of killing two horses was released from jail Friday morning. Authorities said they are still reviewing the case against William St. Sauver, Jr., adding that they are not able to charge him at this time.
The last of three men charged with killing a man by jumping on him “like a trampoline” has pleaded guilty. Tony Baker, 34, of Brooklyn Center, was originally charged with second-degree murder in the death of 41-year-old Kerry Scott. He will be sentenced at 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 18 and is expected to be sent to prison for 64 months.
A Dakota County dog kennel owner accused of drowning puppies has been convicted of felony animal cruelty. A jury on Friday convicted 62-year-old Dayna Bell of Northfield on 13 counts. She was acquitted on one count.

St. Paul police say a woman who was struck by a hit-and-run driver has died. Police say 53-year-old Therese Klotz of St. Paul was struck Friday about 6:40 p.m. She had just dropped off a passenger and gotten out of her car to talk with the woman as the woman walked toward a house.

Authorities have released the name of a man who was fatally shot in Shakopee. The Hennepin County medical examiner’s office identified the victim Thursday as 32-year-old Aaron James Moran of Shakopee. The medical examiner says Moran died of multiple gunshot wounds.

A jury has found Jeffery Trevino guilty of second-degree murder, but not guilty of second-degree murder with intent in the death of his wife, Kira Steger. The jurors found that Trevino did kill his wife but that it wasn’t his plan. They say her death happened during his attack.
Three men were sentenced Friday for their roles in a murder of a couple on the Red Lake Indian Reservation on New Year’s Day 2011. David John Martin, 46, of Columbia Heights, was sentenced to 160 months in prison on one count of robbery. Kevin John Needham, 21, of Red Lake, was sentenced to 90 months in prison on one count of robbery. Terin Rene Stately, 25, of Red Lake, was sentenced to 40 months in prison on one count of aiding and abetting robbery.
