Silica Sand Summit Planned At Winona State

Opponents of the region’s growing silica sand mining industry are preparing to convene a “citizens summit” in Winona on Saturday. The event at Winona State University is being organized by the Land Stewardship Project so residents can share strategy and hear from experts.

Minn. Farmers Among Top Users Of Conservation Program

A new report says Minnesota farmers are consistently among the biggest users of a major federal conservation program. The analysis by the Minneapolis-based Land Stewardship Project looks at the Conservation Stewardship Program, which rewards producers for good conservation practices on working farmland.
