A Hennepin County District Court judge decided Friday that the 9-year-old boy who stowed away on a plane to Las Vegas in October should remain in a youth facility. According to the Hennepin County Attorney’s office, Friday’s hearing was a pre-trial on a Child in Need of Protection and Services (CHIPS) petition, which was filed when the boy returned to Minneapolis in October. The boy’s parents were not ready to resolve all of the issues at the proceedings, which led to the scheduling of a trial date.
