Minneapolis police say a bicyclist was injured Thursday afternoon in an accident involving a Metro Transit light rail train. The accident occurred near 46th Street and Hiawatha Avenue in south Minneapolis.

City Council Votes To Reduce Street Parking For Mpls. Residents

The number of parking spots for Minneapolis residents could soon decrease. The Minneapolis City Council unanimously passed an amendment to the zoning code that will reduce the number of parking spaces for residential areas that are by frequent buses and rail transit.

A longtime staff member of the Minnesota Senate was killed after being struck by a Green Line light rail train on her way to work Thursday morning. Lynne Thomas had been a legislative assistant in the Senate for 28 years. She was crossing University Avenue on the light rail tracks when she was hit and killed by a train around 7:30 a.m.

‘Gutter Block Goon’ Gang Members Charged In St. Paul Assaults

Seven men were each charged Tuesday for their roles in three gang-related assaults over the span of two days in downtown St. Paul in January. The Ramsey County Attorney’s office says the defendants are all members of the Gutter Block Goon gang, and all are charged with two counts each of third- and fourth-degree riot, both of which are considered crimes committed for the benefit of a gang.

Arrest Made In Fatal LRT Stabbing

Minneapolis police arrested a man overnight they believe is connected to a fatal stabbing at a light rail station. Officers took 25-year old Anthony Bowker into custody around midnight Sunday after investigators tracked him to a homeless shelter. They believe he stabbed a man to death at the Lake Street stop along the Blue Line around 1:30 o’clock Saturday afternoon.
