Arrest Made In Fatal LRT Stabbing

Minneapolis police arrested a man overnight they believe is connected to a fatal stabbing at a light rail station. Officers took 25-year old Anthony Bowker into custody around midnight Sunday after investigators tracked him to a homeless shelter. They believe he stabbed a man to death at the Lake Street stop along the Blue Line around 1:30 o’clock Saturday afternoon.

A man is dead after a stabbing at a light rail station in Minneapolis Saturday afternoon. Minneapolis Police say the incident happened at the Lake Street – Midtown Station platform near Hiawatha Avenue. Metro Transit and Minneapolis police are investigating.

St. Paul Police say a squad car was involved in a crash Monday afternoon with a Metro Transit Green Line train. The crash happened just before 3 p.m. near the intersection of University Avenue and Pascal Street. Police says the officer involved in the crash was not injured.

A Metro Transit Blue Line light rail train derailed in Bloomington, Minn. Saturday afternoon. Around 1 p.m. the middle car of a three car train came off the tracks near 30th Avenue between the 28th Avenue Station and Bloomington Central Station.

New Light Rail Station Opens At Target Field

It’s being called the Grand Central Station of Minnesota. The newest light rail station opened Saturday at Target Field in downtown Minneapolis. It will serve as a hub for the light rail as well as Northstar trains. Commuters can also connect to bus routes and bike trails there.

LRT Connecting Downtowns Set To Run 24/7

The forthcoming commuter line connecting the downtowns of Minneapolis and St. Paul via light rail train is likely scheduled to run 24 hours a day, every day. The Green Line was originally set to run only from 5 a.m. to 1 a.m. daily, with a four-hour gap on the overnights.
