Sue Bird is back for another WNBA All-Star Game, and Plenette Pierson is joining her for the first time. And Minnesota’s Lindsay Whalen has made the All-Star Reserves.
Seimone Augustus scored 17 points in her return from a knee injury and the Minnesota Lynx beat the San Antonio Stars 88-78 on Friday night for their sixth straight victory. After missing eight games and the All-Star Game because of bursitis in her left knee, Augustus received a loud ovation as she was introduced in the starting lineup. The cheers were even louder in the fourth quarter when she fueled a 12-0 run that put the game out of reach.
Parade starts at 11:30 am on Nicollet Mall
Lindsey Whalen scored 23 points to help break open a close game in the final 12 minutes as Minnesota cruised to an 87-72 victory over the San Antonio Silver Stars on Tuesday night for the Lynx’s franchise-best 11th consecutive home win.
Lindsay Whalen scored 16 points led Minnesota’s balanced scoring effort and the Lynx held off the Chicago Sky 79-76 Friday night.
