Athens Man Creates A ‘Field of Dreams’ For Community

In the small town of Athens, Minn., Russ Mann decided the Little League programs needed a nicer field to play on.
His dream became a “Fields of Dreams,” and has made quite a difference for the spirit of a community. A cell tower provided Athens with a $36,000 piece in seed money for the baseball field. But with more funds needed, Mann and his associates started getting creative, tapping into a momentum that became contagious in the town. The buzz for a baseball field was on.

Vandals hit at the heart of a Brooklyn Center Little League field Monday night, creating a couple thousand dollars in damage and a mess that will take days to clean up. Police said the incident took place at the facilities on the 6000 block of Vincent Avenue.

Charges: Duluth Little League Coach Sexually Assaulted Player

A Duluth man is accused of sexually assaulting a boy on his Little League baseball team, including photographing the two of them together naked. Peter Jay Olson, 47, is charged with two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, one count of possessing pictorial presentation of minors, and one count of use of a minor in a sexual performance.
