Roseville High School Put On Lockdown After Bank Robbery

Roseville Area High School was put on lockdown Thursday morning after a suspect fled towards the school following a bank robbery. Roseville Police say the TCF Bank located inside of Cub Foods near Har Mar Mall was robbed just after 9 a.m. The suspect was last seen fleeing northeast from Har Mar Mall towards the school, which is one mile away.

HCMC Goes In To Lockdown After Gun Threat

Staff and visitors at Hennepin County Medical Center in downtown Minneapolis had a tense morning after a man’s threat caused the building to go into lockdown. The incident happened at about 11 a.m. when a hospital staffer reported that a man was threatening to use a gun.

2 Arrested After UMD Lockdown

Two people were arrested Thursday after witnesses saw someone with a gun on the University of Minnesota Duluth campus. The school was put in lockdown when a UMD employee called 911 after seeing a man drop a weapon. The university says a 15-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man were arrested, and a pellet gun was recovered.

Police Standoff In Lake City Ends With Suspect Killing Himself

A police standoff with a man in southeastern Minnesota that put a high school on lockdown Wednesday night ended Thursday morning with the man taking his own life, authorities said. Lake City Police responded to a residence on the 500 block of South 6th Street in Lake City at about 5:19 p.m. Wednesday after a report of threatening text messages and weapons inside the residence.

A WCCO crew’s en route to Lake City after reports of an apparent standoff. The Lake City Police Chief said the lockdown situation in his town was precautionary, but the Rochester Post-Bulletin reports the standoff began at 5:30 p.m. outside a Lake City man’s home.

School Locked Down After Man Fires Shotgun Nearby

A south metro school went into lockdown briefly Wednesday morning, police say, after someone walked into the nearby woods and fired a shotgun into the ground. The Bloomington Police Department said an adult male who lives in the area of the school had taken his grandfather’s shotgun and fired it behind Life Academy, on 2201 West 108th Street.

After Lengthy Lockdown, Stillwater Prison Back To Normal

After nearly a week of being in lockdown, things are back to normal at the Minnesota Correctional Facility in Stillwater. The facility said visits will resume on Thursday, Aug. 1, and all offenders are expected to return to their normal programming by the end of Thursday, too.
