Jed Lowrie’s foul ball that turned into a two-run double after umpires changed the call highlighted a 10-run fourth inning as the Oakland Athletics pounded the Minnesota Twins 18-3 on Wednesday night. Tiffany Hayes scored 23 points and the Atlanta Dream recovered after blowing a 17-point lead in the first half and rallied to beat the Minnesota Lynx 88-75 on Tuesday night. WNBA scoring leader Angel McCoughtry had 19 points and Erika De Souza added 16 points and 16 rebounds as Atlanta (14-9) scored the first 10 points of the fourth quarter and went on to its third straight win — all at home.

Zach McAllister won for the first time in almost three months, Ryan Raburn homered and the Cleveland Indians beat the Minnesota Twins 5-2 on Tuesday night. Coming off his worst start of the season on Thursday against Detroit, McAllister (5-7) bounced back and held Minnesota to one earned run and four hits in six innings. He struck out seven in his first win since May 23.
