Police: 3 Hurt, 1 Arrested In Mankato Stabbing

Authorities said one man was arrested after three people were hurt in a stabbing at a Mankato bar Saturday night. Police were called to the 700 block of North Riverfront Drive at about 9:50 p.m. on a report of an assault.

After completing a bone replacement surgery Friday morning, Isaac Kolstad stood up for the first time in over four weeks. The former Minnesota State University – Mankato football player has been hospitalized since he sustained a head injury during an assault in downtown Mankato over a month ago.

Isaac Kolstad Recovers From Blood Clot, Prepares For Another Brain Surgery

Former Minnesota State University – Mankato football player, Issac Kolstad, has shown signs of improvement after he was treated for a blood clot last week. Kolsatd has been in a coma since he sustained head injury during an assault in downtown Mankato, Minn. roughly a month ago. Kolstad was treated for a deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot that can occur when someone is bedridden and blood does not flow properly.

Donors Turn Out For Blood Drive Honoring Kolstad

The family of critically injured former Minnesota State, Mankato football player Isaac Kolstad is urging blood donations in his honor. The Free Press of Mankato reports dozens came to the Mankato National Guard Armory Tuesday for the first day of a three-day blood drive to honor Kolstad.

Isaac Kolstad, Wife Have 2nd Daughter

The wife of a former Minnesota State football player who was critically injured in a beating has given birth to the couple’s second daughter. Molly Kolstad gave birth to the girl on Wednesday at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato. Hospital spokesman Kevin Burns told KTOE radio that both mother and daughter are doing well.

Mankato Police Step Up Patrol In Troubled Downtown

The college year came to a violent end near one Minnesota campus. Two young people suffered critical injuries within one week in downtown Mankato in May. One left a former Minnesota State University Mankato linebacker in a coma, while another happened when a student tried to jump on the back of a campus bus. Police believe alcohol played a role in both.

MSU-Mankato To Host Fundraising Benefit For Isaac Kolstad

Minnesota State University – Mankato will host a fundraising benefit for former football player Isaac Kolstad. Kolstad suffered severe head trauma earlier this month after allegedly being punched, hitting his head on pavement and then being kicked in the head. The incident took place in downtown Mankato shortly after the bars closed.

Community Rallies For Father In Critical Condition

Hundreds of people turned out Thursday night in south central Minnesota to send a message to a young father fighting for his life. They let him know that they are “#22Strong.” Isaac Kolstad, 24, wore the number 22 during his days as a linebacker at Mankato State University.
