The Mankato man accused of providing synthetic drugs that killed two people is being held on a $1 million bail. Tyler Caputo, 21, was arrested in suburban Chicago last week after leaving Minnesota without the court’s permission.

Mankato Ranks 3rd On Forbes List For Business Locations

Forbes has ranked Mankato third on its list of the Best Small Places for Business in America, just behind Fargo, North Dakota, and College Station, Texas. A chamber of commerce member says Mankato had previously ranked 10th, 11th and 25th. He says the town’s greatest strength is the diversity of its economy.

Authorities are offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person or people responsible in a Mankato shooting in April that left one dead and three others hurt. Mankato Area Hit By Major Flooding

Authorities said major flooding hit the Mankato area Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, closing roads in the area and causing a mudslide. Deputy Eric Weller with Blue Earth County Emergency Management said between four and seven inches of rain fell in Mankato and the northern part of the county overnight.
