Man Convicted In Shooting Of Friend In Front Of Kids

A 53-year-old Minneapolis man was found guilty of manslaughter in Hennepin County Court Tuesday in the shooting death of 23-year-old Jeremiah Curtis. The suspect, Eddie Niles Hubbard, had been friends with Curtis for a long time and was living with him and his girlfriend during May 2013 incident on the 2900 block of Girard Ave. N. in Minneapolis.

Eagan Woman, 66, Sentenced In Child’s Day Care Death

An Eagan day care provider has been sentenced in the death of 3-month-old child. On Thursday, Beverly Anne Greenagel of Eagan was sentenced to 45 days in jail and 10 years of probation in connection with the death of Dane Joseph Ablidinger while she was in Greenagel’s care at her home day care facility.

Attorney Weighs In On Arrest In Death Of Bemidji Girl

Charges are expected Monday against a 22-year-old woman in Bemidji, who was arrested in connection with the death of her 6-year-old cousin. Rachel Downer is facing charges of manslaughter and felony neglect of a child in the death of Mercedes Mayfield. Downer was watching her cousin last month when the little girl was found frozen to death at the entrance of her apartment. The temperature at the time was minus 27.

5 Convicted In Costa Concordia Crash That Killed Minn. Couple

Five employees of an Italian cruise ship that crashed off the coast of Italy have been convicted of manslaughter. The cruiseliner sank near the shore of Tuscany in January 2012. Among the 32 who died were Barb and Jerry Heil, who lived in White Bear Lake. Under the plea deal, the five employees were sentenced to prison time, but only two will likely serve time.
